In 2006 Amanda was awarded Fellow status for her contribution to the development of business in the region. Amanda is an entrepreneur herself and has been involved in several programmes related to entrepreneur development.
He has worked on newspapers in South Africa as an investigative reporter, feature writer and, in executive roles, as News Editor, Assistant Editor: News, Managing Editor and Executive Editor.
He currently runs the national Travel supplement for Independent Media as well as being the group’s Media and Marketing editor. In that capacity, he is one of the most well-known commentators on media and marketing issues.
After more than a decade in a variety of communications role, she has extensive experience in both the agency and corporate world at a senior level. Sector specialisations include financial services, ICT and consumer brands. Strategising, planning and implementing both B2B and B2C campaigns means pulling expertise from both disciplines – especially pertinent today as these spaces increasingly overlap.

He is a director and past Chairperson of the Braamfontein Improvement District and was a director of PROTEC, a Maths and Science education NGO for close on 10 years. He worked for 14 years as a diplomat for South Africa, focused on multilateral affairs.

She is currently responsible for Communication and Public Relations at MTN SA. She has been in this position for approximately seven years. In this role she is responsible for both internal and external communications for MTN South Africa.
Corné has been recognised for teaching excellence throughout her career and has researched and taught, among others, integrated marketing communication, marketing planning and implementation, strategic communication, public relations management and practice, as well as corporate communication at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Corné engages with industry and has served on several committees through the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) and Services SETA.
Daniel has 15 years’ experience in business communication consulting, branding, and media; and has worked across multiple industries in numerous African countries as well as in the Middle East, the US, Europe, and AsiaPac.
He specialises in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement, measurement and evaluation, crisis communication, and skills development for senior communication practitioners and business leaders for a global client base.
Evette has spent the past 12 years in a variety of South African and UK based corporates ranging across multiple disciplines which include high-end fashion and retail, telecommunications, information technology, multimedia, manufacturing, sport and entertainment, Pay TV, automotive and the ICT distribution industry.
Evette holds an Honours Diploma from the London School of Journalism, a BA Journalism Degree, a Corporate Communications Honors and an Anthropology Honours Degree from the University of Johannesburg. She is currently also concluding her MSC Degree in the Management of Technology and Innovation.
Having returned to Africa after many years in Asia and Europe, Doug joined, what was then, Interbrand Africa in 2006, with the responsibility of delivering all Interbrand services in sub-Saharan Africa. Leveraging the experience and capabilities of the 34 offices around the world, and running offices in Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi and Port Louis, Doug is driven by the role that brands play in delivering direct business results.
Doug has a broad academic background in Industrial Psychology, Economics, Marketing and Business) and is a Chartered Marketer. He also holds multiple academic and advisory positions.
He also completed a three-year stint as the host of Special Assignment – the investigative journalism TV show on SABC 3.
Ashraf is the brainchild of Champion South Africa’, a broad-based mass participation movement that encourages a champion attitude amongst all South Africans – because only champion people can build champion nations. He is driven by an intense desire to encourage a “ChampionSouthAfrica ” attitude.
Cynthia is a qualified Chemist and also holds a graduate Diploma in Marketing (IMM), a Bachelor in Business Administration (IMM) and is currently completing her Masters in Business Leadership (MBL).
Cynthia has been a judge for the prestigious PRISM Awards for three consecutive years and a Marketing judge for the Food Review New Product of the Year Competition for the past two years.
Dave moved to East Coast Radio as a Presenter and Station Manager before taking charge of the privatisation of East Coast Radio. He started Gameplan Media in 1997 and has worked closely with key accounts including the Vodacom Durban July, The Dusi Canoe Marathon, the MTB World Championships, and served as Media Officer at the Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing.
